Understanding the Lord’s Prayer Free Essays

Understanding the Lord’s Prayer â€Å"Our Father in paradise, blessed be your name. Your the hereafter, your will be done, on earth for what it's worth in paradise. Give us today our every day bread. We will compose a custom article test on Understanding the Lord’s Prayer or on the other hand any comparative point just for you Request Now Pardon us our obligations, as we likewise have excused our indebted individuals. What's more, lead us not into enticement yet convey us from the malevolence one† (Matthew 6:9-13). A great many people, strict or not, know about this supplication. Some consider it a supplication, some consider it a serenade, and some call it an inane arrangement of words. Regardless of what the feeling is in regards to the supplication, separating it very well may be provocative and hard to completely comprehend. On a superficial level it is exceptionally basic, yet underneath the surface the words have extremely profound religious ramifications. As indicated by the New International Version Bible, Jesus said in Matthew 6:9, â€Å"This, at that point, is the means by which you ought to supplicate. † However, an issue emerges out of this translation. The genuine Greek to English interpretation is â€Å"Make your petitions go this way. † as it were, the supplication is really a layout of how petitions ought to go (Rhodes). Regularly, the supplication is confused with something that ought to be presented in exactly the same words. It is right to present the supplication verbatim, be that as it may, God didn't plan for individuals to recount the words as an inane custom. Supplicating utilizing Jesus’ layout demonstrates the accompanying method to shape petitions: To recognize what god's identity is, to appeal to God for his work to be done on earth, to request what is required, to request absolution, and ultimately, to request an approach to manage enticement and resistance (Rhodes). The words â€Å"Our Father,† in Matthew 6:9 are two of the most impressive words in the petition. The meaning of the word â€Å"Our† is: â€Å"Belonging to or related with more than one person† (www. oogle. com). The assemblage of Christ is a gathering of devotees that are siblings and sisters in Christ. The primary word â€Å"Our† recommends being a piece of this assemblage of Christ (Ruffin). The second word â€Å"Father† is the one whom is being tended to. A petition ought to consistentl y begin by perceiving that the Lord our God is the one being appealed to, however God additionally needs to be drawn closer as a kid moves toward their caring dad (Pastor Mike) since God wants closeness (AllDeaf. com). God needs to be tended to as â€Å"Father† out of affection and modesty (Pastor Mike). The kid needs to perceive their situation as along these lines, and God’s position as Father. â€Å"Hallowed be your name† (Matthew 6:9). This segment is recognizing God’s value and significance (Ruffin) in light of the fact that â€Å"Hallowed† actually implies: â€Å"To make holy† or â€Å"To show as sacred. † When supplicating the words â€Å"Hallowed be your name,† it is lauding His blessed and commendable name. God isn't a mate or companion whom ought to be thoughtlessly tended to, yet nor is He removed (Pastor Mike). This idea is inexactly identified with why God is tended to as Father. Your the afterlife, your will be done, on earth all things considered in heaven† (Matthew 6:10). This segment of the layout is appealing to God for God’s take a shot at earth (Rhodes). The word’s â€Å"Your realm come,† is appealing to God for the Lord’s direction (Ruffin) for God’s realm (AllDeaf. com) to do everything unto the Lord. â€Å"Your will be done, on earth all things considered in heaven,† is pronouncing that God is truly accountable for everything. The word â€Å"Will† implies equivalent to â€Å"Desire,† so appealing to God for God’s will to be done is additionally petitioning God for all the God wants to be done (Pastor Mike). These words are additionally requesting that the Lord dominate with the goal that His kids can work by His answers and not their own on the grounds that the watchwords is â€Å"Your will be done,† not â€Å"Our will be done† (Ruffin). â€Å"Give us today our every day bread† (Matthew 6:11). These words are requesting God to give what is required so as to continue profound and day by day needs (Ruffin). God may not give everything that is needed, however he gives everything that is really required on the grounds that God thinks about His youngsters. This line likewise focuses back to when God was driving His kin out of Egypt and each morning He gave them enough nourishment to last as the day progressed. God didn't give them more than one day’s worth of sustenance, in any case, with the goal that they would keep on depending on Him to give (Pastor Mike). That is the reason the supplication isn't, â€Å"Give us this week our week after week bread. † The supplication is â€Å"Give us today our day by day bread,† so God is persistently depended on to give. â€Å"And excuse us our obligations, as we likewise have pardoned our debtors† (Matthew 6:12). Absolution is give up (AllDeaf. com); God doesn't need His youngsters to take care of their fair share. That is the reason He made petition. God made His youngsters in His picture, so as a generous God, His kids should likewise be excusing. In doing as such, it demonstrates love to each other and Christ. By all accounts, it can't get more straight forward than requesting that God pardon sins, however underneath the surface something that isn't so straight advance is the idea of decency. No place else in the good book does God talk about reasonableness. Taking a gander at the refrain the words, â€Å"Forgive us our debts,† isn't the main thing that is said. It is stated as a condition. It says, â€Å"Forgive us our obligations, as we likewise have pardoned our borrowers. † Meaning God will excuse the transgressions of His youngsters, if His kids pardon one another. Also, lead us not into allurement, yet convey us from the shrewdness one† (Matthew 6:13). This is the segment of the layout requesting an approach to manage allurement and resistance (Rhodes). This is requesting that the Lord divert the malevolence, and anything that speaks to insidious. God needs His youngsters to supplicate this, so they won’t capitulate to the malevolent enticements of the world. A few people accept like sin is the reason for the fall, however sin is only the casualty of allurement. Allurement is the genuine guilty party, since that is the thing that drives God’s youngsters into wrongdoing. â€Å"Our Father in paradise, consecrated be your name. Your life hereafter, your will be done, on earth all things considered in paradise. Give us today our day by day bread. Excuse us our obligations, as we likewise have pardoned our indebted individuals. Also, lead us not into allurement however convey us from the insidiousness one† (Matthew 6:9-13). Some consider it a petition, some consider it a serenade, and some call it a negligible arrangement of words. A great many people, strict or not, know about this supplication, yet the group of Christ lives and inhales this petition. Rehash it and it turns into a good for nothing custom (Rhodes), implore the words and it turns into the establishment to the relationship imparted to Christ. The most effective method to refer to Understanding the Lord’s Prayer, Essay models

Environmental Air Pollution Essays - Environmental Chemistry

Natural Air Pollution My perspectives on nature are established in my faith in creation. I don't accept that life on earth started suddenly, nor do I accept that the earth is so carefully adjusted. I don't accept that the earth and its environment are delicate. Numerous extreme naturalists do, they accept man can tag along, without anyone else and make a huge difference in negative ways. Following countless years, they accept that we are the last two ages of human presence. What's more, they figure we can obliterate the earth without anyone else? I basically can't accept this perspective on man and his works. I will not accept that individuals, which is likewise an aftereffect of Creation, can obliterate the best creation known to mankind. Albeit some haughty radical researchers accept that they are equipped for opening each entryway of the universe or more all else, fit for getting it, there are a few things in this world that man can't comprehend, and can't comprehend, and we should acknowledge these things in confidence. This one little planet has the conditions that are essential forever and is totally positioned in our nearby planetary group. On the off chance that we were set somewhat further from the sun, we would be a huge ice solid shape. In the event that we were somewhat nearer, we would broil in one major stove. What's more, the position of the Earth isn't by some coincidence, it was set here on purpose. We people had nothing to do with earth's creation, nor did we have anything to do with it's situation or it's working. We are just a piece of it. We are as much piece of it as the Spotted Owl, which is a feathered creature. Be that as it may, preservationists picture people as a characteristic adversary of nature. As indicated by them, we are fit for obliterating earth only by acting naturally. I likewise don't see how these ?researchers? of whom which express we are ground-breaking enough to obliterate earth, can likewise say we are no superior to a frog. Lamentably for them, this is the thing that they accept. They assume that all life frames on the planet, other than people, calmly exist together. They feel that people obliterate. Most creatures and creepy crawlies rely upon one another for food and don't calmly coincide. We were unable to pulverize the earth regardless of whether we needed to. The earth is more than 4 billion years of age. Man has been here for close to 200,000 of those years. We can't verge on making the powers of nature, yet these powers have been around for 4 billion years. But then, the earth is still here. Mount Pinatubo, in the Philippines, heaved forward in excess of a thousand times the measure of ozone-exhausting synthetic substances in a single ejection than all the chloro-fluorocarbons at any point made by insidious man and had organizations in the entirety of history (RLimbaugh, The Way Things Ought to Be, p155). So now researchers state that 4-6% of the ozone misfortune could happen over the Northern Hemisphere throughout the following 2-3 years (RLimbaugh, The Way Things Ought to Be, p155). Keep in mind: this has been continuing for billions of years we despite everything have a solid ozone layer. Once more, the realities are here, man can't verge on rising to the CFC yield of a spring of gushing lava. End, Mother Nature has been assaulting her own ozone layer for many years, it's still here. We have just been estimating ozone since 1956 (RLimbaugh, The Way Things Ought to Be, p155). Scientists despite everything guarantee that they know enough for us to transform us. Perhaps the biggest ecological concern in the ongoing years is the ?potential issue? of the Earth warming up in view of man's maltreatment of nature. There is little proof behind these speculations, and the greater part of these hypotheses are being voided after each new examination. Researchers state a supernova 340,000 years prior upset 10% to 20% of the ozone layer, causing just a burn from the sun in ancient man (RLimbaugh, See I Told You So, p178). Has man at any point made anything really near the radioactivity and hazardous power of a supernova? My answer: suspicious. Also, if pre-notable man just got a burn from the sun, how might we get malignancy from forced air systems

Legalizing Marijuana Essay Example For Students

Legitimizing Marijuana Essay To the AIDS or disease tolerant, the plant battles queasiness and hunger misfortune. To the nutritionist, its seed is second just to the soybean in dietary benefit, and is a wellspring of cooking oil and nutrients. To the paper or fabric producer, the plant gave quite a bit of our paper and apparel for a long time and creates multiple times more fiber per section of land than trees. To the earthy person, the plant could enormously slow deforestation, reestablish looted supplements by different harvests, and help forestall disintegration. Furthermore, as indicated by Lonnelle Aikman, Preliminary indings show the medication may demonstrate successful against glaucoma and asthma, and control such side sickness in malignant growth treatment (158). Sadly, to the vast majority in this nation, it is a futile plant with regards to financial or clinical worth. Cannabis ought to be legitimized in the United States. In specialized terms, hemp, cannabis, or for the normal American, pot, it is utilized distinctly for recre! ational purposes. I think pot is a plant that could spare the world. In this paper I would like to turn around biases, soothe obliviousness, and illuminate individuals regarding the known and potential restorative employments of this momentous plant. Starting today the country remains behind three fundamental thoughts of how to manage cannabis; authorize weed, make it lawful just as a doctor prescribed medication, or keep it for what it's worth, illicit. Individuals who are professional weed, contend that weed is extensively less unsafe than tobacco and liquor, the most every now and again utilized legitimate medications. Moreover maryjane has never legitimately caused anyones demise. Individuals who side with the legitimization of cannabis for clinical purposes accept that whatever it takes to get the job done, so be it. In any case, the individuals who need to keep it illicit believe that the clinical uses don't exceed the destructive symptoms. Before choosing whether cannabis ought to be lawful or illicit, one has to know some essential realities. Lester Grinspoon, M. D. what's more, James B. Bakalar note most botanists concur that there are three types of pot; Cannabis sativa, the most across the board of the three, is tall, lanky, and inexactly extended, developing as high as twenty feet; Cannabis indica is shorter, around three or four feet in tallness, pyramidal fit as a fiddle and thickly expanded; Cannabis ruderalis is around two feet high with few or no branches (1). They additionally state that Cannabis has gotten one of the most boundless nd broadened of plants. It develops as weed and developed plant everywhere throughout the world in an assortment of atmospheres and soils (1). Pot was first developed in China around 4000 B. C. It was for the most part utilized as a soothing and pain relieving, yet today it is usually utilized for the high or the euphoric inclination it causes. The most dynamic fixing in maryjane is delta-9-tetrahydrocannibinal regularly alluded to a! s THC, which wasnt found until the 1960s. Weed is illicit today on account of the Marijuana Stamp Tax Act went in 1937. This demonstration precluded the utilization, deal, and developing of pot. It was made unlawful on the grounds that nobody comprehended why smoking pot caused individuals to feel the manner in which they did, and in light of the fact that it was related with Indians and other supposed shameless individuals. Today weed is illicit in light of the fact that exploration has demonstrated some inebriating impacts. For example, mind flight, tension, misery, extraordinary fluctuation of mind-set, distrustfulness and schizophrenia enduring as long as six hours. Raphael Mechoulam says, Although cannabis causes beginning anxiety, fervor, and now and then riotous, rash conduct, pacing and moving, the primary picture is of decreased physical action separated from discourse (316). Physical impacts incorporate blushing of the eyes, dryness of the mouth and throat, a moderate increment in pulse, snugness in the chest, sluggishness, flimsiness, and ungraceful solid constrictions. Cannabis cradles ! the focal sensory system, yet isn't known to deliver a lot of tar in the lungs. .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e , .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e .postImageUrl , .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e .focused content zone { min-stature: 80px; position: relative; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e , .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e:hover , .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e:visited , .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e:active { border:0!important; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e { show: square; change: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-progress: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; mistiness: 1; change: obscurity 250ms; webkit-change: darkness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e:active , .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e:hover { murkiness: 1; change: haziness 250ms; webkit-progress: murkiness 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e .focused content territory { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e .ctaText { fringe base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: striking; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; content design: underline; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; outskirt: none; outskirt sweep: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; textual style weight: intense; line-tallness: 26px; moz-fringe span: 3px; content adjust: focus; content embellishment: none; content shadow: none; width: 80px; min-stature: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/straightforward arrow.png)no-rehash; position: outright; right: 0; top: 0; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u98b 592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e .focused content { show: table; stature: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u98b592d8cd1e8aa419f039a4e66cdf2e:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: FOREIGN TRADE POLICY AND THE IMPACT ON AGGREGATE E EssayAlthough cannabis has not been demonstrated to be genuinely addictive, its utilization can be mentally addictive. These are the pessimistic impacts of maryjane, and the essential reasons why local individuals, specialists, and lawmakers need to keep weed unlawful. Supporters of authorizing weed express that some legitimate medications are similarly as awful. For instance, liquor has huge numbers of a similar reactions of cannabis. Liquor supports the focal sensory system and is known to slaughter synapses. A joint of maryjane is known to create more tar than a cigarette, yet on the normal pot clients don't expend enough pot to outperform the tar develop of an individual who smokes a pack of cigarettes daily. June Crown and W. D. M. Paton express that Further, one ought to understand that distinctive cannabis smokers select various degrees of ntoxication (18). What's more, both liquor and cigarettes have been demonstrated to be artificially addictive but they are lawful. Starting late 1990, there were around twelve individuals who had authorization to smoke cannabis for its clinical worth. Are these the main individuals who can profit by cannabis? Not as per Harvard scientists who reviewed 2,430 oncologists; of the 1,035 who reacted about half said that they had recommended smoking cannabis to at any rate one of their patients, in spite of the way that it is unlawful, and that they would endorse maryjane on the off chance that it were sanctioned. When Kenny and Barbara Jenks, of Panama City, Florida, created AIDS, the main thing that made them eager and diminished their queasiness were a few hits of cannabis every day. Neither of them had ever been weed smokers previously, yet everything their primary care physician recommended for them fizzled. In March of 1990, twelve cops put a battering ram through the entryway of their manufactured home, took their two 10-inch pot plants, and captured the couple. The Jenks fought back, and after nine months got two of a bunch of legitimate pot smokers in the United States. Throughout the previous ten years the administration has sparingly administered cannabis to brief part of the populace to get it lawfully on an exploratory reason for the treatment of glaucoma and queasiness identified with malignancy chemotherapy. At the pinnacle of the Drug Wars in the late 1980s the Department of Health and Human Services started getting many applications from AIDS patients, for whom marijuanas hunger prompting impacts was the main thing that isolated them from life and passing. As they shed pounds and quality, they thought that it was increasingly more hard to continue the will to live. Rather than seeing the interest, Health and Human Services immediately shut down the program this previous year, just permitting the select gathering previously profiting by maryjane to proceed. Helping individuals in need wasnt worth jeopardizing the notoriety of the War on Drugs. They felt that the utilization of weed, even as a medication would send an inappropriate message to individuals. In spite of the fact that there is a lot of discussion about the sanctioning of medications among the state government there is next to no discussion about it on the national level. Rather than authorizing it the administration has attempted to concoct options in contrast to weed se. They presently offer a medication called Marinol, a circular earthy colored pill containing a counterfeit form of one of marijuanas working fixings. Marinol is delivered exclusively by Unimed Inc. in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. The pill sells for around five dollars a tablet, and was endorsed in 1985 to fight the queasiness related with malignant growth chemotherapy. In the book, Marijuana, the Forbidden Medicine, it expresses that spewing (dry hurls) may keep going for quite a long time or even days after every treatment, trailed by days and ev

Art of War By Sun Tzu Reaction Paper Essay

Sun Tzu has built up a strategies on the most proficient method to deal with war appropriately with technique and strategies. In his book Sun Tzu about the specialty of war I took in a great deal of strategies on the most proficient method to wage and win a war. He expounded a great deal of ways how to overcome our adversary yet for me not the entirety of his works about war are material realizing that time and circumstance are evolving. For me there are no outside intelligence can reveal to us acceptable behavior in light of the fact that even past fruitful models and speculations are not successful any longer in the real factors of the current situation. Some of the time I have to give up or retreat when it appears I have huge likelihood of losing a fight by our concern or our foe. At the point when I choose to give up or retreat it just connotes that I have better plans in vanquishing my foes. At times when we realize that we can't win a battle we should withdraw and discover different ways on the most proficient method to overcome our adversary in short we have to give time in our preparation to make us progressively more grounded and ensure that we have enough assets, technique and just as labor so as to vanquish all our foe and may chances favor our fight.

“Young Goodman Brown” by Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay Example For Students

â€Å"Young Goodman Brown† by Nathaniel Hawthorne Essay â€Å"Young Goodman Brown† by Nathaniel Hawthorne contains a lot of imagery. The images take numerous structures from the setting to the characters. The images can be seen as simply part of the story line, yet apon further idea they speak to a wide range of things. Confidence, Brown’s spouse, is an image herself. At the point when he says, â€Å"My love and my Faith,† he is utilizing his better half as an image and is truly alluding to his adoration and confidence in God. He proceeds to state â€Å"this one night I should hesitate away from thee. He implies that he should part from his confidence in God to continue with his excursion. He likewise says to the fallen angel, â€Å" Faith held me back awhile† and is making reference to a higher being that is attempting to shield him from making his excursion by postponing it. At the point when Brown finds the pink lace that his significant other was wearing lying in the woodland he says, â€Å"my Faith is gone† and is alluding to himself as losing his confidence in God. Additionally, Goodman Brown’s â€Å"errand† represents the Puritan journey where they were to discover the arrangement that God has set for them and let confidence be their direction. As Goodman Brown proceeds with his â€Å"errand† and thing start to go exhibit he becomes feeble and tumbles to the ground. He starts to question whether there truly was a Heaven above him and this is a key moment that Goodman Browns confidence starts to wagon. Goodman Brown in alarm proclaims that With Heaven above, and Faith beneath, I will yet stand firm against the fallen angel! This is like a Puritan placing his confidence in God and following â€Å"God’ Plan. † The backwoods that Goodman Brown dares to in itself is an image. In the Puritan days the townspeople were banned from going into the backwoods since that is the place fiendish snuck and even says â€Å" my dad never went into the woods†¦nor his dad before him. † Hawthorne portrayed the forrest as â€Å" a terrible street, obscured by all the gloomiest trees of the forest† and even jokes of the malevolence sneaking there when he says â€Å"there might be a wicked Indian behind each tree† and â€Å"What if the demon himself ought to be at my very elbow! † Hawthorne even uses the primary character as an image. His name, Young Goodman Brown makes reference to him as being youthful and a decent individual. At that point Hawthorne gives him such a typical last name, that it relates him to any and everyone, much the same as he does in one of his other short stories, â€Å"Everyman†, when he utilizes this as a source of perspective to the entirety of society. Another image that is available in the story is the puzzling man in the backwoods. He represents the fallen angel or malevolence in the story and peculiarly looks to some extent like . † The Devil had with him a staff that drag the resemblance of an extraordinary dark snake. The staff, which seemed as though a snake, represents the snake in the account of Adam and Eve. The snake drove Adam and Eve to their annihilation by driving them to the Tree of Knowledge, similarly as Brown is being directed to unfathomed information by the demon, and thusly is being directed to his decimation. Much the same as Adam and Eve, when Brown finds the â€Å" wellspring of all mischievous arts† his confidence is ousted from him similarly as Adam and Eve were thrown from the nursery. The story in general represents that the potential for fiendish lives in everyone. The remainder of Brown’s life is annihilated as a result of his failure to confront reality of wrongdoing and live with it. The story, which may have been a fantasy, and not a genuine occasion, planted the seed of uncertainty in Browns mind, which him to lose his confidence in his individual man and disregards him and discouraged. His life closes alone and hopeless in light of the fact that he was always unable to take a gander at himself and understand that what he accepted were everybody elses deficiencies were his too, and this prompted his disconnection from the network. Earthy colored was covered with no confident section upon his headstone; for his withering hour was anguish.

By spending a few moments trying to relax your body, you can start to improve some of your physical discomforts. Letting go of this strain will also help relieve your anxious thoughts. Work your way up to your entire arm, tightening and loosening each set of muscles, moving from the forearm up to the shoulder. Then switch to the left side. Do the same for your legs, starting with your right foot. Continue to focus on separate muscle groups, including your back and shoulders, until you have worked your way all the way up to the top of your head. Dont forget to relax your facial muscles, as there is often a lot of tension held there. Try to soften your forehead, relax your jaw, and ease your neck. Change Your Mind Even when in full-blown panic mode, you may logically recognize that your fears are exceeding what is warranted by the situation. Despite wanting the panic to stop, your thoughts may be keeping you from feeling calm. When faced with negative thoughts  associated with a panic attack, try to distract your mind and refocus. As the panic attack takes its course, divert your attention to more pleasant thoughts. Instead of fearing the situation you are in, try thinking about the positive aspects of your life, such as a loved one, a beloved pet, or a favorite leisure activity. It may be helpful to think about something that makes you laugh or to visualize a tranquil scene. You can try to think of a funny joke or imagine a beautiful sunset. Affirm more positive statements to yourself. For example, repeat to yourself, I am okay, I am safe, or This will pass. Over time your negative thinking pattern will begin to give way to more encouraging views. Can I Stop a Panic Attack From Happening? Confront Panic One of the most effective ways to start managing panic attacks is to persistently face your fears. If your attacks are situational, such as being in crowds, try not to avoid these situations. Such exposure will help you to work through panic and will send the message to your fears that you are ultimately in control of them. If your panic attacks are unpredictable, meaning that no particular triggers bring them on, you will also need to tackle the panic as it comes. Remember that by becoming self- aware during a panic attack, even when it comes on unexpectedly, can help you cope with its symptoms. Remain aware of how youre feeling and remind yourself that it will not overtake you. Follow Treatment Recommendations Your physician or health care provider may recommend medication to help treat your panic attacks. Anti-anxiety medications, known as benzodiazepines, can provide fast relief for panic symptoms. Frequently prescribed benzodiazepines include Xanax (Alprazolam), Ativan (Lorazepam), Valium (Diazepam), and Klonopin (Clonazepam). Benzodiazepines are generally prescribed during the initial treatment phase as a short-term remedy for panic attacks. Antidepressants, such as Prozac (Fluoxetine), and Zoloft (Sertraline), are a commonly prescribed type of medication used in more long-term prevention of panic attacks. Since antidepressants can take several weeks to be effective, it is important to take them consistently to improve your symptoms. Benzodiazepines Short-term relief Take shortly before a panic-inducing situation, like prior to boarding an airplane or giving a speech Antidepressants Long-term prevention   Take daily to help alleviate feelings of anxiety and weaken strength and duration of panic attacks   Next time you are met with a panic attack, apply these techniques so that you can begin to regain some control. Keep in mind that these strategies wont work every time or for everyone, but try them out and see what helps you. These skills will be most effective if you practice them when you are not in a state of panic. By rehearsing them, they will become easier to use and will be more ingrained in your memory for when you will need them the most. You may also want to write them down and keep them with you so that you have them during panic-inducing situations. With patience, perseverance, and consistency, your panic attacks can be managed. You are most likely much braver than you think you are. Over time, you may begin to recognize your own courage as you continue to conquer panic attacks. Bratislava: FSEV UK, 2016. 67p.The aim of this thesis is to analyze the international organizations status, competences and implementation in conflict area- Afghanistan, from the point of implementing the principle of human rights protection as guaranteed by international law. First chapter of thesis will deal with theoretical concept of meaning of human rights and human rights protection under international law. There will be also defined difference of international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations work and competences in order to have clearer picture of further work. In second chapter there will be defined main methods that are going to be used in empirical part. In the second chapter there is done operationalization which is going to support empirical part and how it looks like and particularly in relation to research question, aim and hypotheses. Third chapter deals briefly with history of Afghanistan and main human rights concerns that appeared during Taliban rule. Fourth chapter is supposed to show as how UN, NATO, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International are able to influence development of human rights in Afghanistan and that is supposed to answer on research question, fulfill aim and prove hypotheses.Key words: Afghanistan, human rights protection, rights of women, international law, UNAMA, ISAF, HR Watch, AIPrefaceIn year of 2008 I have read a book Kite Runner written by Afghan writer Khaled Hosseini. It was my first meeting with country of Afghanistan and also with huge human rights violations done by Taliban. Than I have read another his book Thousand Splendid Suns. I was impressed with Afghan culture and history but shocked with all human rights abuses that happened and are happening in that country. Especially I was interested in severe breaches of rights of women and all that women have to suffer from discrimination to sexual violence, forced marriage and stoning to death. When I became student of European Studies and International Relations I got interested in international law and functioning of international organizations. As we know that international law covers human rights protection I became interested in ability of international organizations to influence development of human rights in countries where basic human rights are violated. We all know that it isnt easy work. Often despite efforts of crucial international organizations human rights are still violated and laws on protection of human rights still are not effectively applied. So in my Master Thesis I decided to analyze how international organ izations can influence human rights development in conflict area: Afghanistan. In this thesis I wanted to research how international organizations influenced building of human rights system under international law provisions in Afghanistan and whether they were able to influence implementation of these rights. My special focus are women rights because their rights were mostly violated during Taliban era and their basic rights still appear to be violated despite many efforts of IGOs and NGOs. I want to show that most of success in development of human rights system and implementation of that system was achieved thanks to IGOs as they are politically most influential as their provisions are legally binding and Afghan government is accountable to them. I will show that in operating of NGOs they appear to be useful sources of information but in appealing and pressuring they do not contribute much to development of human rights system and situation. That is supposed to show how much I GOs and NGOs differ in their practical success despite that they have same aims.Table of ContentsINTRODUCTION.11.Theory: Human Rights Protection and International Organizations..31.1. Sethu Sethunarayanan - 1966 Words

1. Explain in detail what theories and concepts you learned in class are helpful to understand the case. The case discusses an entrepreneur named Sethu Sethunarayanan, who invented and marketed an innovative trap to help poor Irula people (an Indian tribe) catch rats more efficiently. He is the founder of the Center for Development of Disadvantaged People (CDDP) – one of a few recognized non-profit organizations in India. The case is an example how technological innovation and human capital can be used to improve the life for the poor. This rat-trap entrepreneurship was a social entrepreneurship because the inventor used the resources to cater to the needs of poor people. Prior to the innovation of the new trap, Irula villagers†¦show more content†¦Lastly, Sethu seemed to be the first one who addressed the problem in how Irula people catch rats, so he had the first-mover advantage. In addition, it was not likely that other social entrepreneurs would come and compete with Sethu in the near future. Hence, the Irulas did not have other choices but use Sethu’s new traps if they wanted to change the way to catch rats. 3. What characteristics of the entrepreneur enabled their success? Sethu had many characteristics of an ideal social entrepreneur. Among those characteristics, the thing distinguishing him from others may be his concern for the community. Being inspired by Mahatma Gandhi – the Father of the Nation, Sethu always thought of ways to bring a better life for the poor in India. This is probably the reason why he realized the problem of the old way of catching rats of the Irulas and did not stop thinking of a solution. In addition, Sethu obtained an appropriate education and experience in doing social entrepreneurship. Sethu studied in Gandhi’s school in India, where he was instructed to use Gandhi’s method to improve lives for the poor, solve human conflicts and introduce new ideas. After graduation, he worked for an NGO to accumulate experience before establishing his own NGO in 1998. His education and experience were the foundation for his innovativeness, which contributed to the invention of the rat trap. Finally, the most vital factor leading

La Llegada Del Cristianismo

Sample details Pages: 7 Words: 2120 Downloads: 2 Date added: 2017/06/26 Category Analytics Essay Type Analytical essay Did you like this example? Don’t waste time! Michael Asch, An Anthropologist - 900 Words

Michael Asch, an anthropologist, has written a couple of books on First Nations Canadians and their location in the social and political hierarchy of Canada. Throughout his book, On Being Here to Stay, he makes many arguments and utilizes many cases and examples of the First Nations Canadians political and civil rights and examines the way the Canadian government has handled the task of placing the First Nations and aboriginal people into a western democracy and wester thought. Michael Asch explores the long road to amends with the sovereignty of Canada compared to the First Nations rights and the changes that occur. In Chapter Two in On Being Here to Stay, one finds the first legal argument Asch explores in his book. This legal argument is based in the case Calder v. Attorney General of British Columbia, which is often referred to as the â€Å"Calder Case,† took place in 1967. The Calder Case explored the rights of the Nisga compared to the rights of the Crown. The question regarded â€Å"’the aboriginal title, otherwise known as the Indian title†¦to their ancient tribal territory’ and that this title, which had ‘never been lawfully extinguished,’ encompassed an interest to benefit from activities on their ancestral lands.† The Nisga wanted to ensure that because they were living on the land before the settlers arrived, their land and rights were theirs no matter the different sovereignties who occupied other land. A Fight For Freedom Rosa Parks and Mahatma Ghandi Essay

Throughout history, there has been injustice caused by discrimination and oppression. But with that unfair treatment comes leaders who fight difficult battles for the rights of the persecuted and downtrodden. Two of the most influential advocates for equality are Rosa Parks and Mohan-das Gandhi. Parks fought for African-American equal rights, which was a crucial step in the bat-tle for integration in the southern United States. Gandhi led thousands of people to peacefully protest the unfair treatment of Indians by the British. Parks and Gandhi helped end discrimination through their participation in boycotts and marches. He encouraged people not only to grow cot-ton, but also to create and sell their own khadi. As the British began losing jobs and customers, their economy was undermined. With Gandhi as a leader of this passive resistance, Indias econ-omy was revitalized. Both Parks and Gandhi believed that people could peacefully obtain the po-litical and social changes they wanted through boycotts. Parks and Gandhi used marches as a way to significantly diminish social injustices. In 1965, Selma, Alabama was made the center of the quarrel over the rights of black voters in the South, assisted by Parks and Martin Luther King Junior. In March that year, protesters attempting to civilly march from Selma to the state capital of Montgomery were confronted with violence by the authorities. The Selma marches were protests that marked the climax of the American civil rights movement. At the same time, entrepreneurship represents people who are driven to act on opportunities and environmental catalysts in the face of limited resources. At its core, entrepreneurship is starting a business from idea conception to managing the company for the long term. There is no doubt that entrepreneurship deserves the reputation for the reason that it has the level of freedom of which traditional managers can only dream. ( Morrison, 2000) In order to inquire entrepreneurship deeply, this article illustrates two essential parts to analysis entrepreneurship. The first aspect is giving the concept of entrepreneurship including the explanation of entrepreneurship and discussing whether entrepreneurship is aroused from nature or nurture. The second part is considering the value of entrepreneurship. Part one: the concept of entrepreneurship Entrepreneurship can be explained into various approaches, including economic approach, personality approach and other approaches. In this part, the article put emphasis on the economic dimension and personality dimension to analyze the features distinguished entrepreneurs. The role of entrepreneurship is embedded in the mainstream economic models. Considering the direction of causality between entrepreneurship and economy, it can be proved that economic development generates many opportunities which can transform new ideas and create the new enterprises. On the contrary, the creation of new industries and the innovation of existed firms which stimulated by entrepreneurship may stimulate the economic growth. Therefore, entrepreneurship can be regarded as both the cause and effect of economic development. From an economic perspective, the measure of entrepreneurship is the contribution of new firm formation. Entrepreneurs are more than a business man, they are the speculative trader which is skilled to put forward new ideas, grasp the opportunities and combine the effective management with innovation in the risk and uncertainty background. When starting up a new enterprise, there are a number of jobs available can be generated. When facing with the economic slump and financial crisis, entrepreneurs can drive the company get out of the trouble by seizing opportunities and making innovation. There comes a conclusion that the entrepreneurs as the agent of economic change so that it makes huge contributions to economic growth. ( Oscar, Javier Pablo, 2009) It is far from enough for explaining the entrepreneurship in economic rationale. Economic perspective ignores the special human abilities and differences in human values, capabilities and power of human will result in different practical solutions. Therefore, it is essential to take the personality into account. Personality traits aim to using the characteristics of individual to explain the differences of individual actions when facing the similar conditions. Personality traits also explain the behaviors of entrepreneurs. There is no doubt that the individual personality of entrepreneurs stimulates their passions, social interactions and creativeness. In order to give a deep understanding of entrepreneurship, there are several traits which have a close relationship with entrepreneurship. ( Littunen, 2000) Innovation is the soul of entrepreneurship. Hampered by uncertainty and limited resources, entrepreneurs should to reply the variety agile efficiently and become creative in facing the challenges. Since the essence of entrepreneurship is doing the different things rather than making something better, the lack of innovation will result in the decline of enterprise, even perishing. In the point of view of CEO Zhang Ruimin, entrepreneurship is the creative destruction, if the enterprise attempts to make great achievements, there is a need for enterprise to destroy themselves, and otherwise they will be destroyed by other firms. Thus, recently, Haier put forward an idea that enterprises should be adapt to the demand of epoch development other than willing to success. Haier relies on the pursuit of innovation perseverance by the means of setting up an independent operation mode of the win-win body successfully become a leader in the industry. ( Okpara, 2007) Adventure is the nature of the entrepreneurial spirit. Facing with the potential risks and uncertainty, it is impossible to possess entrepreneurship if lacking of adventure. It is said that you must kiss a large number of frog to find the princess. It means that entrepreneurs should have to experience setbacks and failures in order to be success. Liu chuanzhi is the representative of entrepreneur in china. Although he has been relieved from this office, he still keens to start new businesses. Regardless of facing risks and many challenges, he intends to transform Lenovo into an enterprise which produces enterprises. It can be drawn that entrepreneurs have the spirit of adventure and dare to be the first one. (Hadji, Cocks Mueller, 2007) Social vision is the key to entrepreneurship. Social vision can be regarded as a strong sense of obligation and destiny to satisfy human needs. Possessing social vision promotes entrepreneurs to find the opportunities and act as an agent of social age. Li kaifu, the CEO of Innovation Works, stress that entrepreneurs should spare no effort to produce more social returns. He proves himself through actions. September 4, 2009, Kaifu Lee resigned from Google to run his Innovation Works as an angel investor and create new models for society by his huge influence. Li kaifu has the sense of obligation and aspiration to make contribution to social and economic development by creating new business and innovation. What’s more, there are many other characteristics which are associated with entrepreneurship such as locus of control, determination, and trusting and trustworthy. When entrepreneurship attracts public’s attention, there is a heated debate aroused about whether entrepreneurship is caused by nature or nurture. You read "Concept and Value of Entrepreneurship" in category "Papers" Some groups believed that genetic factors existed to drive people to engage in entrepreneurial activity. There is no doubt that some kinds of specialities are people born with, such as the innovativeness, adventurous and locus of control. These characteristics are determined by genetic factors rather than training or other environmental factors. It is insisted that genes may have an influence on chemical mechanisms in the brain so that people maybe more willing to pursue entrepreneurial activity. Genes also affect individual characteristics which can make entrepreneurs different from others, such as people who possess characteristics of innovativeness and locus of control are more likely to throw themselves to the entrepreneurial activity. ( Kroeck, Bullough Reynolds, 2010) Genes entrust people the ability to be more sensitive than others to environmental stimuli, it means that entrepreneurs are easier than others to master the social change in order to prepare in advance. What’s more, genes may make people to good at find favourable factors and opportunities to ensure the company development. Therefore, it is nearly impossible to find a simple formula or entrepreneurship that can be trained, the specific characteristics and habits possessed by the successful entrepreneurs was inherent. ( Kenney Mujtaba, 2007) However, some groups take the opposite view that entrepreneurial leaders are made rather than born. They consider that there is hardly existed entrepreneurship gene for the reason that the majority of entrepreneurial leaders start at a young age. According to the survey, about 33% of the entrepreneurial leader said that working in the corporate environment makes essential contribution to the success of their business. At the same time, 45% of entrepreneurs establish their own businesses after the age of thirty. Although there still have young entrepreneurial leader, it is no doubt that the knowledge they acquire in the college and the personal experiences through the corporate and social environment are essential to their success. In spite of the young age, over a half of entrepreneurs regarded themselves as the â€Å"transitioned leader† for the reason that they have spent a much time in the traditional employment before starting their own business. The education and experiences lay great foundation on the entrepreneurs. It can be concluded that entrepreneurs are aroused from both nature and nurture. Some unique characteristics of entrepreneurship which include creativeness, locus of control and risk-takers are born with and can not be taught, these characteristics make the entrepreneurial leaders apart from the traditional managers. Nevertheless, becoming successful entrepreneurs and running the business successfully in the long term are not simply requiring the specialties, but also depending on the combination of internal and external factors, consisting of education, timing, culture, social environment and sometimes luck. Part two: the value of entrepreneurship Almost without exception, entrepreneurship brings a lot benefits to individual, companies and society. Most importantly, entrepreneurship indeed generates great economic benefits so that it should be attach importance to. Actually, entrepreneurship is regarded as a challenge for people. It requires people to break the traditional thinking of managers and become the risk-taker and create a new business. Although it may be difficulty for people due to the lower median incomes and more volatile and less secure, entrepreneurs could earn self satisfaction and rewards which is an opportunity for them. At the same time, developing the entrepreneurship can generate self sufficiency which can create the wealth. According to the top ten popular entrepreneurs in china which is ranked by Forbes, consisting of CEO Ma huateng in Tencent, CEO Ma yun and other entrepreneurs, the aim of ranking is to make entrepreneurship internationally respected and admitted. Therefore, facing uncertainty risks and challenges, entrepreneurs are still willing to create their own business and achieve their values. Firth Mcelwee, 2009) Entrepreneurship also plays the dominant role in the enterprise development; it is the major source of the enterprise core competitiveness. The core competitiveness of enterprise is regarded as the extension of entrepreneurship and it can be reflected by the visionary and vigorous leader. As being the unique position in company, it is important for entrepreneurs to take responsibility of risk activities such as the organization innovation, management innovation and value innov ation. For example, in 2002, Huawei was facing the challenge of lacking of technology advantages and entering the cyclical downturn, CEO Ren zhengfei carried out the deep reform which includes industrial restructuring and internal restructuring and finally enterprise met the success. It proved that entrepreneurship does not simply constitute the internal driving force of development, but also become the external development opportunities. Entrepreneurship makes huge contribution to the social development, especially in economy. Entrepreneurship generates a large number of employment opportunities by the establishment of new business which is treated as a significant input to economy. It is also improving the level of productivity by boosting the GDP rates or tax contributions. Moreover, entrepreneurs are able to create many innovations which promote the boom of inventions the world would have been a much dry place to live in. Especially in recent years, China is experiencing the economic downturn influenced by the global economic crisis; it is in urgent need of entrepreneurship to promote the economic recovery. Sun mingnan is the represent of the generation of 80s, which was the most attractive young entrepreneur in Summer Davos, his successful experience proved that young entrepreneurs attach importance to the economic development in China. ( Santo, 2012) Above all, entrepreneurship has substantial value, it is increasingly treated as a vital driver of economic, productivity, innovation and employment development, and it is believed to be a key aspect of economic dynamism and a key factor to determine the birth and death of firms and their growth and downsizing. It is also promoting the self satisfaction and sufficiency. Since creating a new business and participating in self-employment has become a common activity in the world, entrepreneurship is widely recognized as the major drive in economic growth. After the basic analysis of entrepreneurship among the economic and political ways, as well as whether entrepreneurship is caused from nature or nurture, it can be concluded that entrepreneurs indeed have some kinds of characteristics which are born with, also need the knowledge and experiences. Combined with both nature and raining, entrepreneurs have the ability to make contribution to individual, enterprises and the society. In a conclusion, entrepreneurship is deserved for both people and government to pay attention to. The Problem and Its Background Introduction Unknown to many, the Manila Hotel is one of the attractions that the government can offer to both local and foreign tourists. Most of the Filipinos, particularly those in the provincial areas are not aware of the beauty of Manila Hotel. Lucky are those who have visited and toured citadel and personally viewed the eye-catching designs and the fantastic interiors. The Manila Hotel is a 570-room, five star hotel in Manila, Philippines, located in the heart of the Manila Bay area. It is the oldest premiere hotel in the Philippines, built in 1909 to rival the Malacanan Palace, the official residence of the president of the Philippines, and opened in 1912. It was built on an area of 35,000 square meters along Roxas Boulevard. Filipinos should be aware of the wealth and resources that abound in the country. The manila Hotel can be taken into account as one of them. However, only few have knowledge about this fortress; most of them are well-known personalities and government functionaries who have access to the place. Common or ordinary Filipinos have no information, unfamiliar and not interested on this important asset. Gracefully standing in one nook in the Bay Area is the Grand Dame of all Philippine Hotels, the Manila Hotel. Built in 1909 and opened to the public 3 years later, the Manila Hotel is a good reminder to the country’s colonial past as well as of days of a bygone era, of knights  and  maids, of gentlemen and ladies, of taste and temperance, of  quality and urbanity It was in the tenure of Governor General William Howard Taft when the beautification and planning of Manila were undertaken under the supervision of top architect and DC city planner, Daniel Burnham. Tasked of overseeing the development of Manila and Baguio, Burnham prepared a master plan for Manila that was slowly implemented. Some of the remnants of this master plan are the restored Neo-Classical corridor found along Roxas Boulevard (formerly Dewey Boulevard). In the same plan was the proposed construction of the Manila Hotel. However, it was Architect William Parsons who would make the Manila Hotel a reality. A graduate of Paris’ Ecole des Beaux Arts and a former professor of architecture at Yale, Parsons led the construction of the Manila Hotel. Built in the â€Å"California Mission† style, the Manila Hotel was basically a large, white-washed concrete house with a pitched roof colored green. Designed for the tropics, the steep roofs were built for the good interior ventilation as well as the easy run-off of rainwater. As one drives up the circular driveway leading to the main entrance, the guest enters into the grand lobby. Its original lobby (which is presently the restored Manila Hotel’s fore-lobby) was huge during its time and was gracefully appointed. The entire lobby was white and was accentuated with lush tropical green plants. Supported by twin white Doric columns, and separated by exquisite arches, the lobby showcased two grand stairways. The two  grand staircases led to the mezzanine where a music room, guests’ parlor, and Children’s dining room were found. The Children’s dining room was a very Victorian hallmark, which helped the adults in having comfortable and â€Å"worry†-free meals. The Manila Hotel was also the first Asian hotel to sport electric elevators. There were two elevators in the lobby, one for each side. There were also two private elevators and a servants’ elevator. The main dining room of the pre-war Manila Hotel spanned from the left end of the lobby towards the direction of the bay. It was semi-circle in order to insure each guest of an uninterrupted view of the majestic bay. Surrounded by an open veranda, the room was high and was witness to many lunches and snacks to so many of the old hotel’s guests. Parson’s also employed traditional Filipino materials, a manifestation of is respect for the local beauty of native things. The floors consisted of wide planks of local hard woods. The windows made resembled the traditional provincial Filipino house, with four-inch squares of natural  capiz. These were used to soften the vicious tropical sun’s rays (unfortunately, these were later replaced by conventional steel and glass windows). The beds had metal frames but many pieces of furniture such as chairs and tables were made of rattan, bamboo and grass fiber. The lobby was full of â€Å"peacock† white-painted rattan chairs, comfortable chairs that also gave a sense of grandeur to anyone who sat on those chairs. Nevertheless, Filipinos should be the first to know and should be the first to visit, see and experience the place. Unfortunately, majority can only see it on magazines, televisions and hear it from the radio. This study will help us learn more on the details of its design and on the manner of its preservation. Parallel to that is to discover its relevance to the Philippine history, culture and Tourism industry. The present study will pursue in attaining a wider-range of awareness to make the Grand Dame of all Philippines better well-known and be accessible to every Filipino. Setting of the Study The study was conducted in Centro Escolar University which is located at Mendiola Street San Miguel, and Manila. The researchers had chose the school because it is the most accessible locale for both the researchers and the respondents. Centro Escolar University is one of the most well-known schools in Tourism Management. Furthermore, a group of tourism students recently had their tour at The Manila Hotel. Conceptual Framework The study focused on the perception of tourists on the Manila Hotel and its significant contribution to the tourism development and the Filipino culture. The researchers have identified the factors that influenced them to visit the destination. The result of this study will help promote the Manila Hotel become a tourist destination. It gives them knowledge on how to preserve and improve the certain destination to attract more local and foreign tourist. It would be a great help in knowing their evaluation regarding the location, facilities, amenities, safety, security and affordability, so that the government would know what are the strengths and weaknesses of the particular destination. Paradigm of the study The paradigm illustrates the conceptual framework of this study which illustrates how the specific problems will be answered. This study will find out the perceptions of tourists on the Manila Hotel and its significant contribution to the tourism development and to the Filipino culture. INPUTPROCESSOUTPUT FEEDBACK Figure 1 FIGURE 2 Theoretical Framework Figure 2 shows the theoretical paradigm that illustrates the different theories adopted in this study. This study has thoroughly assessed the perceptions of tourists on the Manila Hotel as an important asset and its contribution to the Filipino culture. Corollary to this, the Management by objectives (MBO) concept of Peter Drucker was considered as frame reference for this particularly study. According to George Odiome, â€Å"MBO is a process whereby superior and subordinate managers of an organization jointly define its common goals; define each individual’s major areas of responsibility in terms of result expected of him and uses these measures as guides for operating the unit and assessing the contribution of each of its members. Likewise, John Humble defines MBO as a dynamic system which seeks to integrate the company’s need to clarify and achieve its profits and growth goals, with the manager’s need to contribute and develop himself. It is a demanding and rewarding style of managing a business. This principle basically applies in the management of the Manila Hotel as an important assest of the government and how it contributes to the Filipino culture and influence tourism industry in this country. Theoretical Paradigm The MBO concept is the most widely accepted philosophy of management today, as it emphasizes team work result and, is based on the assumption that people perform better when they know what is expected of them and can relate their personal goal to organizational objectives. This is very much applicable in the present dispensation of running the Manila Hotel where the team from the National Government from the executive department or from the Department of Tourism. MBO is a participative and democratic style of management provides subordinates higher status and positive participative role, making MBO both a philosophy and a management approach. Likewise, it allows people to control their performance, measure themselves and exercise self-control. Furthermore, it is a result-oriented philosophy that offers many advantages like employee motivation, high morale, effective and purposeful leadership and clearly defined objectives. Thus, MBO is gainful to this study for the reason that the objectives served as a guide for planning the work, setting priorities and evaluating performances. All of these have significance to this study and its application is vital to successfully determine the perceptions of tourists on the Manila Hotel as an important asset of the government and its contribution to development. The social and economic Theory of Hagen holds that there is a direct relationship between societal change and personality change of people and change must start an individual to attain the much awaited societal change and reforms. Behavioral and attitudinal changes and values formation among people are key elements that will bring reforms and economic progress. A positive viewpoint of the tourists of Manila Hotel could lead to their patronage and support to the tourism industry through social and societal and economic development aspects. Therefore, the behavior and attitude of the tourists influenced the Filipinos culture and industry. Procedural changes and adjustments give impetus for the government to synchronize efforts on tourism development programs with the doctrines emanating from the Department of Tourism to attain success, growth and maturity in managing government resources. While there may be significant changes and modifications in the tourism schemes and practices, these will produce better results in the end, both to the government and tourists. Viewed as a business process and prospect, the tourism administration must be founded on the ideals behind quality to achieve economic gains and excellence, making tourism industry as one of the centerpiece of revenue-generating schemes. Another theory that supports this study is the Total Quality Management (TQM) formally known as total quality control emphasize the crucial role of management in the quality process. Total means that everyone participates and that it is integrated into all business functions. Quality means meeting or exceeding customer (internal or external) expectation. Management means improving and maintaining business systems and their related process or activities. Milakovich and Gordon (2001), defined total quality management aslt; â€Å"A management approach that encourages organization wide commitment, teamwork and better quality results by providing incentives to increase the success of the whole enterprise. Finally, the Systems Theory greatly influenced this study which originates from Bertalanffy’s General System Theory (GST), used in the action theory of Talcott Parsons and the system-theory of Niklas Luhmann. System is used to refer specifically to self-regulating system, in effect, it is self-correcting through feedback. Self-regulating systems are found in nature, including the physiological systems of our body, in local and global ecosystems, and in climate – and in human learning processes. Relative to this, Manila Hotel is considered self-regulating as it is inherent upon the government as an autonomous entity. Tourism industry is an investment vested upon the state in order to support its continued existence and sustain the needs and deliver the services to the public. In this context, a system from this frame of reference is composed of regularly interacting or interrelating groups of activities. It was recognized that organizations arte complex social systems, reducing the parts from the center of individuals, structures, departments and units separate in part from the whole instead of recognizing the interdependence between groups of individuals, structures and processes that enable an organization to function. Laszlo explains that new systems view that organized complexity went one step beyond the organized simplicity in reducing the parts from the whole, or in understanding the whole without relation to its parts. The relationships between organizations and their environments became recognized as the foremost source of complexity and interdependence. Bela H. Banathy, argued that the â€Å"benefit of humankind† is the purpose of science, has made significant and far-reaching contributions to the area of systems theory. She defines a perspective that iterates this view. The systems view is a world-view that is based on the discipline of systems inquiry. Central to system inquiry is the concept of system. I the most general sense, systems mean a configuration of parts connected and joined together by a web of relationships. The Primer group defines a system as â€Å"elements in standing relationship†.
